ColdFusion CFMX 6.0 Bug September 09, 2003

A while back I found an interesting bug in CFMX. I haven't yet gotten around to reporting it directly to Macromedia, but will if anyone can verify if it's still an issue in CFMX 6.1.

When I create a CFC file that has a mixed case filename on my Windows XP development machine, then migrate the CFC to my Linux product server, I get an error suggesting the CFC doesn't exist.

CFMX, when looking for the CFC, forces the name of the CFC it's looking for to lowercase everytime. So, where the CFC it's looking for might be called myCFC, it will look for mycfc. Filenames in Linux are case sensitive, and because of that, mycfc doesn't exist.

Does anyone know if this has been fixed in CFMX 6.1?

Yes it's fixed, cfc filenames are no longer case sensitive, the only thing to truely watch out for is bad characters that hender webservices.
